Learn more how customers reviews work on AmazonCustomers say
Customers are not happy with the temperature, performance, value, noise and size of the air cooler. They mention that it doesn't cool off the house as much as they claim to, it's very noisy and that it'll only chill a small bedroom. Customers also have issues with light controls, and air power. Opinions are mixed on quality, and size.
AI-generated from the text of customer reviews
Customers are mixed about the quality of the air cooler. Some mention it's a decent air conditioner, better than a fan, and a solid choice. However, others say that it broke after a few months of using it and the power cable would get hot. It's very fragile and the blade to move air will break easy. One of the coolers airflow deflectors is broken.
"Awful. Small broke in a month, blade to move air will break easy, stopped evaporating water or whatever it does the water would sit, than I was..." Read more
"...It is perfect for a desk top fan that blows cooler air. The surrounding area does have the potential to get wet so cover accordingly." Read more
"...for my first one since the power outlet on the machine is very fragile and I snapped it. Honestly, the whole machine is fragile...." Read more
"...high it can be a little noisy but that’s because it’s powerful and blow strong. Again I’d highly recommend this product" Read more
Customers are mixed about the size of the air cooler. Some mention it's very small and portable, and good for using in a very small space. However, others say that it'd be better suited for a personal use item and not for more than personal space. The water reservoir needs to be larger, and the tank only holds about a cup of water, so don't use overnight.
"...It's a little smaller than I expected, but I knew it wasn't going to be that big...." Read more
"...The unit doesn't vibrate but it is small [about 7in cube] and lightweight and holds water...." Read more
"...And it's very noisy. Not a good bedroom fan. But maybe on a desk except watch out for the water, I did get one leak. I leave it on a small towel...." Read more
"...The range of the fan is small so it really has to be close to you to feel the effect...." Read more
Customers are dissatisfied with the temperature of the air cooler. They mention that it doesn't cool off the house as much as it's claimed to, the air is cool, but not necessarily cold, and the cool air only lasts as long as the filter is frozen. The back of the fan gets hot, and it gets very warm where it plugs into the outlet. The power cable would get hot and cause the unit to shut. Overall, customers are disappointed with the product's temperature.
"It does not cool that good. But if it blows right on you very close it is ok. Runs out of water quickly. But hey, it was cheap" Read more
"...As you probably know, anything frozen eventually melts. The frozen filter will melt and become a wet filter. The ice will melt...." Read more

"...Sure. This thing is not an "air conditioner" it is a humidifier like little swamp cooler thing...." Read more
Customers are dissatisfied with the performance of the air cooler. They mention that it doesn't do as it says, it's not particularly effective, and it doesn’t create much of a breeze. Some say that the buttons on top work, but the remote doesn' t work.
"Did not work as described" Read more
"...Update: The thing just quit working the other day, just shut down while it was in use, can't get it going again...." Read more

"...cable would get hot and cause the unit to shut off and eventually stop working all together. That being said while it was working it worked well." Read more
Customers are not satisfied with the value of the air cooler. They mention that it's a defective waste of money, not a great product, and not worth the money. Some say that the filter is costly and unhandy. Overall, customers are disappointed with the quality and value of this air cooler, which is over-sold.
"...But, it kind of does what it says it does.Is it a bit over priced for what it does? Sure...." Read more
"...It’s SUCH a waste of time. And don’t even get me started on the price. $40 for this? $9.99 tops...." Read more
"...it did cause a fire.. would NOT recommend to use at all it is a waste of money...." Read more
"...Over all, I would not recommended, it's wasted money...." Read more
Customers are dissatisfied with the noise produced by the air cooler. They mention that it's very noisy, 3 times louder on its HIGH setting than their box fan, and the white noise distracts from TV volume.
"...air pulled in from my hallway by my box fan AND it was 3 times louder on its HIGH setting than my box fan is on the HIGH setting...." Read more
"...It is a glorified fan, it is loud, the light is always on. But, it kind of does what it says it does.Is it a bit over priced for what it does?..." Read more

Customers are dissatisfied with the light controls of the air cooler. They mention that the light doesn't turn off, it's annoying, and frustrating. Some say that the air conditioner shuts itself off as soon as it' is turned on. They also say that there is an obnoxious light that cannot be turned off.
"...Oh and it’s loud. Very loud. And bright. The lights don’t turn off, or down. They’re just as loud as the unit itself. It’s just a fan...." Read more
"...And it was smoking and going on and off...." Read more
"...Update: The thing just quit working the other day, just shut down while it was in use, can't get it going again...." Read more
"...it on and they worked both of them for about an hour and then they shut off and then they would work a short amount of time less than an hour and..." Read more
Customers are dissatisfied with the air power of the air cooler. They mention that the fan is very weak, it barely throws any air, and the louevres that direct the air flow are flimsy. The lights flicker and make screeching noises, and it stops working. It simply circulates the air, even when they fully followed the directions. The range of the flow is too short, even less than a regular fan.
"...They are a glorified fan. They require ice, ice water and soaking then freezing the filter unit as their means of producing "arctic" air...." Read more
"...I really do think you get what you pay for with this thing. It is a glorified fan, it is loud, the light is always on...." Read more

But if it blows right on you very close it is ok. Runs out of water quickly. But hey, it was cheap
I had seen commercials and wondered just how good they could be. I held off buying because I was afraid of being disappointed and throwing away money I really don't have to spend. But after melting in bed for a few nights and waking up drenched in sweat, I thought, "Why not, what can it hurt? Even a little relief is better than none, right?"
They advertise these like they are mini-A/C units but they aren't. They are a glorified fan. They require ice, ice water and soaking then freezing the filter unit as their means of producing "arctic" air. As you probably know, anything frozen eventually melts. The frozen filter will melt and become a wet filter. The ice will melt. And the cold water will become room temp water.
Of course, the freezing and use of ice is only a suggestion for that "extra burst of arctic blast". But I wanted to see just how cold this baby would get, so I wet & froze the filter, used bottled ice water and put ice in the tank for maximum effect. The air blowing from this thing was no cooler than the air pulled in from my hallway by my box fan AND it was 3 times louder on its HIGH setting than my box fan is on the HIGH setting. It is drowning out my box fan as I type this.
I mean I wasn't expecting it to be great or leave my room with icicles hanging off the ceiling but I expected to notice SOME type of improvement in the room temperature from this as opposed to the current room temp or the air temp coming through my box fan. There was zero difference.
And to add insult to injury, the unit gets condensation on the outside of the box from using ice and super cold water, so it leaves a runny, dripping mess behind. I tried to go in with little to no expectations except that it improves the temp of my bedroom a couple degrees so I don't sweat as much when I sleep and I was STILL disappointed. It's been running a few hours now and the room temp is no better for it.
Merriam-Webster defines "Arctic" as follows:
2a : bitter cold : frigid arctic air
b : cold in temper or mood an arctic smile
I think they missed the mark by a lot. It is going back tomorrow.

Look, I think this thing gets a bad rap from the other reviews. I really do think you get what you pay for with this thing. It is a glorified fan, it is loud, the light is always on. But, it kind of does what it says it does.
Is it a bit over priced for what it does? Sure. This thing is not an "air conditioner" it is a humidifier like little swamp cooler thing. It blows humidified air to in turn "cool" down about 2 feet from the fan. It "works" if you don't expect it to be an air conditioner and you intend to sit within 2 feet of it. I set mine in front of me on my coffee table or next to me on my desk.
With the limitations and kind of "issues". It is an okay little unit. Please understand what you're getting.
You're not getting a cheap "air conditioner" you're getting an expensive fan that kind of works like a swamp cooler.
Top reviews from other countries
The fan in the unit is the cheapest part of the design. In my case, it's out of balance and makes the table shake a little. I expect it to fall apart any day now.
Then there's the noise itself. Mine is so loud I can't sleep with it on, which is fine: I use a fan, which works just as well.
It will not - Read this: NOT - cool a small room. It will cool a part of a small room, maybe the part you're sitting in. It is not "air conditioning": it is a crappy little plastic swamp cooler, and as the design execution is absolutely abysmal that its performance is equally abysmal.
Not worth $15, much less this panic price they sent up to accommodate a particularly hot summer.
TL;DR: crappy components, crappy design. Not worth it IMO.
